Windy City provides a professionally run league for K through 8th graders. Games are small sided and played on a smaller field. Players will receive equal playing time. Each session will consist of a skills component and several league games. Tournament style is round robin and champions are named. All coaches and umpires are trained and supervised by the Windy City directors who are experienced field hockey professionals. Each team coach is given an age appropriate curriculum to follow so all players receive consistent information.

Each player will receive a Windy City colored game jersey and colored socks to keep. Each player is required to have her own plain black shorts, stick, shin guard, mouth guard and eyewear (optional). Mouth guards are mandatory or the child will not be able to participate.

All league confirmation, team rosters, medical waivers and game schedules will be communicated by e-mail and the Windy City web site. As registrations are received, the players name will be updated on the Confirmed Players List on the web site on a periodic basis; click on Roots, click on Confirmed Players List. After registrations are closed, players will be assigned to a Team Roster. Changes to the rosters will not be allowed once registration closes. One reciprocal friend request will be accepted.

Friend Requests

One reciprocal friend request may be made at the time of registration. The friend request must be with someone from the same school or community to be honored. Friend requests will only be honored if requested by both parties. Once players are named to a team there will be no changes to the team rosters. It is our philosophy to keep players together based on community and school to create a cross-town rivalry within the Spring League Program.
